Bookings & First Visit
Yes, we strongly recommend booking to secure your preferred time and stylist. Walk-ins are welcome if there’s availability, but the salon is often booked several days in advance — especially for colour.
For cuts, 1–2 weeks ahead is usually enough. For colour, balayage, or bridal work we recommend 3–4 weeks. Around Christmas, Mother’s Day, and wedding season we fill faster — book early.
Cuts take 45–60 minutes. A full balayage or foil service runs 2–3 hours. Bridal trials are around 90 minutes. We’ll always give you an accurate time estimate when you book.
We start with a proper conversation about your hair history, what you love, what you don’t, and the look you’re working towards. If you’re new to colour with us we’ll also do a patch test. Consultations are complimentary and there’s no obligation to book on the day.
Yes — book online any time at bit.ly/BookatSalonAyre, or tap any Book Now button on this site. Prefer to talk it through? Call the salon or send us a message and we’ll get you booked in.
Services & Styling
If it’s your first colour service with us, come in for a consultation and patch test at least 48 hours before. Arrive with dry, unwashed hair and avoid heavy styling products like dry shampoo or oil.
Absolutely. We offer bridal hair, formal styling, and group bookings. For weddings we recommend a trial run 4–6 weeks before the day so we can refine the look together.
Yes — gents’ cuts are part of our core menu, tiered the same way as our other services.
Yes, please do. Photos are one of the fastest ways to get aligned on what you’re after. We’ll look at them together and talk through what’s realistic for your hair type and starting point.
Yes. Let us know when you book so we can pair you with a stylist experienced in your specific texture and pattern.
Salon Ayre will soon be launching professional hair extension services. Extension services require a consultation prior to booking, a consultation fee and deposit are required before securing your appointment or ordering hair, and the consultation fee is credited toward your final extension service.
Colour & Technical
A typical balayage service is 2.5–3.5 hours, depending on length, thickness, and whether a toner and treatment are included. Colour corrections can be longer — we’ll confirm during consultation.
Yes, for any first-time colour service at Salon Ayre. It’s a quick 5-minute appointment 48+ hours before your colour — part of our duty of care, and non-negotiable if you haven’t had colour with us before.
Most regrowth clients rebook every 6–8 weeks. Balayage clients typically come in every 3–4 months with a gloss in between. Your stylist will map out a schedule that fits your hair and your life.
Yes — colour corrections are one of our specialties at the Director tier. Please book a consultation first so we can assess your hair and quote accurately before the main appointment.
Pricing & Payment
Our three tiers — Emerging, Principal, and Director — reflect experience level, not quality of care. Every Salon Ayre stylist is trained in the same method and finish. You choose the tier that fits your budget.
Yes — a $50 surcharge applies for extra-long or extra-thick hair because the service genuinely takes longer. Your stylist will flag this during consultation so there’s no surprise at the counter.
We accept all major cards (including AMEX), contactless payment, and cash. Surcharges for card payments will be clearly displayed.
Yes, gift vouchers are available to purchase in-salon only. Pop in to the salon or send us a note and we’ll have one ready for you.
Policies & Practicalities
We kindly request a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for appointment changes or cancellations. Cancellations within 48 hours may result in loss of deposit, and clients who fail to attend without notice may incur a fee of up to 50% of the booked service total. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
Please call as soon as you know. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to have their service adjusted or rescheduled out of respect for the clients booked after you.
Yes — if they’re the one being styled. For safety and the comfort of other guests, we ask that younger children aren’t left unsupervised in the salon during your appointment.
Short-term street parking is available nearby. Longer-term parking is available behind the salon near Coles and Woolworths, as well as across the road near the train station, which is directly opposite the salon.
Yes — we offer coffee, tea, water, and wine for clients to enjoy during appointments.
